Glee Star 'Cory Monteith' Found Dead in Hotel Room

Condolences and prayers are sent for Cory Monteith and his family. The "Glee" actor was found dead in his hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia in the afternoon of July 13, police confirmed at a news conference Saturday night. He was 31.

He had stayed at the Canadian hotel since July 6. His body was discovered by staff after he missed his checkout time. Official said he had been dead for several hours.

Initial report said there was no sign of foul play. Autopsy is scheduled for today (Monday) to determine the cause of his death.

Monteith seemed to be in good spirit days before his sudden death. He went out with friends dining at the Eats At Main Cafe on Thursday. One of his pals even took a picture of him. It was later used as his profile photo on Twitter and it might be the last picture of him taken alive.

After reviewing video tapes at the hotel, police confirmed that Monteith returned to his hotel room alone. His last tweets were on Friday about "Sharknado."

The actor known for his role as Finn Hudson on the FOX hit musical series just checked out of rehab for drug addiction stemming from his troubled childhood. "I am grateful and proud he made this decision," said his girlfriend Lea Michele, who starred with him on the show, back then.

"On behalf of the Vancouver Police, I want to pass on our condolences to the family, friends, castmates and millions of fans of Mr. Monteith," Deputy Police Chief Doug LePard said. "As was the case in countless homes, I watched 'Glee' regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death."

Condolences are also coming from friends and colleagues in the wake of his shocking death.

Michele did not immediately react to her boyfriend's death on social media.
