New Web Craze - Japanese Schoolchildren Performing Bizarre Dragon Ball Attacks

Japanese teenagers have been uploading bizarre pictures of themselves performing Dragon Ball attacks in a new craze sweeping the internet. The images recreate attack moves from the manga and anime series which was popular in Japan in the 1990s.

When the Dragon Ball anime was on primetime television 20 years ago, children would unleash Kamehameha attacks on each for fun at school or in the park.

The craze follows other web trends such as planking - where people would upload pictures of themselves lying face down in bizarre places. The pictures have been turning up on Twitter over the last two weeks.

The new trend comes as filmmakers prepare to release a new film, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, in cinemas next month. It is the first Dragon Ball film in 17 years.
