The Olympian, 26, is seen from a distance with his hands on his hips, donning
lycra running gear and his famous blades as he strolls along the athletics
track.
The grainy image emerged as his agent said the double amputee's return to
training was imminent despite him facing a murder trial over the death of
Reeva Steenkamp.
South African newspaper Beeld said the photo was taken by a high school
student on March 24 in Pretoria where Pistorius' regular practice facility
is.
His agent said it was the first time Pistorius had put his running blades on
since he killed Reeva in his gated mansion – but denied it was a training
session. The newspaper claimed sources had told it the Paralympic champ had begun full
training on March 21.
But his agent denied the report, adding that, in the picture, Pistorius was
only “having a jog around the track”. Peet Van Zyl added: “He is finding it very difficult and he is still coming to
terms with the sad loss of Reeva.
“At this point Oscar is still in an extremely traumatized state and has made
it clear to all of us that he is not able or willing to even contemplate
this issue at this stage.”
Pistorius denies murder in the killing of model Reeva on Febrary 14, saying he
mistook her for a night intruder in his home.
