Jose Mourinho has left Real Madrid, paving the way for a Chelsea return. The Special One, 50, is now set to take his new role at his old club Chelsea FC.
The Portuguese boss was sacked as manager at the Stamford Bridge outfit in
2007, but has patched up his differences with Blues owner Roman Abramovich.
Mourinho's exit from Madrid has been on the cards for some time, after a
disappointing season where the club failed to win any silverware. Real Madrid surrendered their La Liga title to Barcelona, were knocked out of the
Champions League by finalists Borussia Dortmund and even lost the Copa Del
Rey final to city rivals Atletico Madrid.
Mourinho won three trophies during his 3-year spell at the
Bernabeu, claiming the Copa Del Rey in 2011 before clinching the La Liga
title and the Spanish Super Cup in 2011.
