Russell Crowe Shows Off His Superman Emblem In 'Man of Steel' TV Spot

A new TV spot for "Man of Steel" gives more extended look at Superman's Kryptonian parent Jor-El. Russell Crowe as the character depicter is featured showing Kal-El an "S" on his chest and telling his son what that symbol actually means.
"This symbol means hope," Jor-El reveals.

The film from director Zack Snyder stars Henry Cavill as the red cape-donning superhero, who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton and then raised by adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan Kent, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here?

As soon as he discovers his super abilities, Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

General Zod will make an appearance in the film as a strong villain that Superman has to overcome, with Michael Shannon portraying the character.

Penned by David S. Goyer, the action-packed movie from Warner Bros. is set to open nationwide on June 14.
