Kagoro, in Southern Kaduna, is where fighting broke out between soldiers and some suspected Fulani herdsmen after the gunmen resumed
attacks Monday evening in the area.
Sahara Reporters source said the gunmen who were resisted by Nigerian troops on
Sunday in Zangan, Kaura local government area, surprisingly resumed
attacks Monday evening in the same area burning many houses and churches
including that of the district head of Zangan, who is reportedly missing
after the attack.
The invaders also shot an unspecified number of
villagers.
One resident explained that the village is now empty as the locals
have fled to neighboring villages which are far from the scene.
The military authorities and the Kaduna State government seem unable
to halt the frequent attacks in the region that has so far claimed
several villagers in the predominately Christian area of the state.
