Jay-Z Releases New Promo Video For 'Magna Carta Holy Grail'

After his recent Samsung TV commercial made Twitter users go a-buzz last week, Jay-Z releases another video promoting his forthcoming album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" and the Samsung app through which smartphone users can download it for free three days before its official July 4 release date.
In the process, he uses the one-minute clip to talk about the need to "write the new rules."

"This time that we're in right now, in this new independence...even the smallest person can have their voice be heard by millions," Jay-Z begins to say as he is shown in a huddle with record producers Pharrell Williams, Swizz Beatz and Rick Rubin. The 43-year-old rap artist then proceeds to talk about how new technology has practically changed all the rules of how people live, including how they listen to music.

"We wrote how the world would be, now there's so many other things, no one's addressed that again. All these years, all these other things have been introduced to the world, and all these technology, all these things, how can we operate within all that?" Jay-Z strikes the question to his fellow brilliant minds.

"We don't have any rules, everyone's trying to figure it out, that's why the internet is like the Wild West, we need to write the new rules for what's going on right now," the rapper tries to make an emphatic appeal to his collaborators.

The Grammy winner then shifts to his new music and how he wants his fans to experience it. "The whole thing I wanted to do was that fireplace or radio moment when everyone's just sitting and listening to an album where they hear the album at one time," he says.
