Knicks and Lakers Are NBA's Most Valuable Franchises

Market place is still the most important aspect of owning a profitable NBA team as shown in Forbes latest list of the 50 Most Valuable Sports Franchises. Only three NBA teams cracked the list, and no surprise they are from New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Valued at $1.1billion, the New York Knicks were the highest NBA team on the list as the 23rd most valuable. The Lakers were the next NBA team to appear, eight spots behind New York worth $1billion. Just making it into the top 50, the Bulls at $800 million were number 47.

The top three most valuable teams were all European soccer clubs with the Yankees and Cowboys rounding out the top 5.
  1.     Real Madrid - $3.3 Billion
  2.     Manchester United – $3.16 Billion
  3.     Barcelona - $2.6 Billion
  4.     New York Yankees – $2.3 Billion
