Nick Cannon and Amanda Bynes worked together on a TV show called 'All That'. And now - with him presenting America's Got Talent and married to Mariah Carey, and Amanda is in hospital, being held for 2 weeks so doctors can help her, and her parents are in court asking a judge for a conservatorship - he's a bit worried about her.
Speaking at LAX airport in California yesterday, Nick told TMZ's cameramen that he's "praying for" the troubled star. "She's in my prayers, I'm praying for her, it's all you can do," he said.
When asked if she needs all the help she can get, he replies: "Yeah, absolutely" and agreed that it was probably for the best "at this point" if Amanda's parents gained control of her business and financial affairs.
Nick's spoken about his concern for Amanda before - telling a US radio station that "I tried to reach out to her" but had no luck. "To see someone you'd seen at 9, running around with a snotty nose, and now to see her like that is like, 'Wow, man! That's sad'," he added. He's also offered to make a rap record with her - but that was before her recent meltdown.
Amanda's parents, Rick and Lynn, are in court to ask a judge for a conservatorship similar to the one Britney Spears's dad has, but Amanda's lawyer is thought to be fighting against the request.
