Dwyane Wade’s Divorce Reportedly Could Cost $10million

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade has settled with his ex-wife for $5 million, but the total cost of the legal proceedings could double that figure.

Per the Miami Herald:
Two of the dozen or so lawyers in two states involved with Wade’s split from high school sweetheart Siohvaughn Funches say that the past few months in the six-year battle would undoubtedly make the meter reach that figure. ‘We were at about $8 million last year,’ said one lawyer who asked not to be named. ‘He’s paying more for lawyers than what he is paying his wife for the settlement. It was a complicated case, but it may have become personal.’ (Sources say) D-Wade has been paying for his and Funches’ attorneys from a special bank account funded partly with a small portion of his Heat salary, and partly with endorsements. There have been several appeals in the case, and Wade’s pending defamation lawsuit against Funches, which also ran up the tab.”
The case has been dragging on for years, and D.Wade has been footing the bill for both his, and his ex’s laywers. It became messy recently when a judge ruled against Siohvaughn Funches, and she protested in the streets of Chicago saying Dwyane had left her near broke.
A lawyer for the Heat star later issued a statement that he has been providing her with $25,000 a month, and paying all legal fees.  They had reached a settlement of $5million, but now a source close to Wade’s legal team tells the Miami Herald that all the time in court could end up costing him just as much as the settlement itself.
