Emeka Okafor Out Indefinitely With Neck Injury

The Washington Wizards Emeka Okafor is now out with a herniated disc in his neck, and his return date is unknown.

Okafor had been training at Verizon Center most of the off-season and drew praise from coach Randy Wittman for his worth ethic going into the final year of his contract that will pay him $14.7 million.

But the center was diagnosed with a herniated cervical disc after an MRI exam. Okafor, who had pain in his neck, will begin rehabilitation to reduce the inflammation and hopefully alleviate the pain.

The Wiz were hoping to have a formidable starting front line of Okafor and Nene, but now become very thing up front.  In addition to losing Emeka, Washington forward Chris Singleton is now out with a foot fracture that sees him sidelined for at least two months.
