Babyface, whose real name is Kenneth Edmonds, has been honored with the 2,508th star on Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to music world.
Fellow singers such as Usher, Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs, L.A. Reid, Stevie Wonder and Toni Braxton attended the unveiling ceremony which was held on Thursday, October 10.
"It was surreal," the Grammy-winning singer said of the prize, as quoted by USA Today. "That was not part of the plan. That's what makes it an amazing thing," he added. In his speech, Usher said that he could "only hope in some way" he would make contribution like Babyface did, while Diddy said, "This man is responsible for two of my children. And I want to thank you for Justin and Christian, I thank you," before shaking Babyface's hand.
"I just feel like what Kenny has done musically, and what he's done as an inspiration to people as a role model has really advanced the culture. And a lot of babies were made," Reid added with a laugh.
Braxton also commented on the singer, "I had a moment when I was about to cry. I was so proud of him. Because Kenny is kind of shy. He has a great sense of humor - a lot of people don't know that about him, and he's very modest. So I know it took a lot of pushing to get him to even commit to this."
Toni and Babyface are going to release their duet album "Love, Marriage, Divorce" on November 25.
Besides the singers, Khloe Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner were also among the audience. Khloe wrote on Instagram, "I'm so proud of you Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds!!!! You so dearly deserve your Hollywood Star!!!! #Emotional#Proud #FamilyFriends4Life."
