Lakers Will Give Kobe Bryant $24million Today

There are talks that Kobe Bryant will take a paycut after this season to allow the Lakers cap space to sign free agents, but for now he's the highest paid player in the league, and today he will receive a massive payday.

As part of his contract, the Lakers are going to give Kobe a lump sum of over $24 million towards his $30 million contract today.  The remaining $6 million owed will then be paid over the remainder of the season.

When you see huge numbers like this you start to believe that Mamba would be open to a pay cut in the future in order to chase another ring.
