Grammy Crasher May Face Jail Time For Interfering Adele's Speech

The L.A City Attorney filed charges against Vitalii Sediuk on Tuesday, April 16, two months after he appeared on the stage without permission when Adele was claiming her trophy at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Sediuk was charged with one count of willfully leaving a spectator area and entering a performance area and one count of interfering and delaying program participants.

The 24-year-old Ukranian TV prankster could face maximum 6months in jail and a $1,000 fine for each count. "The safety and protection of both participants and attendees of major events held in this city is a priority of my office," said City Attorney Carmen Trutanich in a statement. "In this age of heightened security, any person who intentionally crosses that line and acts in an irresponsible manner will be held accountable for his or her actions."

Back in February, when Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull were presenting Adele with the award for Best Pop Solo Performance, Sediuk made his way to the stage and said, "It's such an honor to receive this award. I love you, Adele." Lopez then guided him offstage. Of his choice to "ruin" Adele's moment, he explained, "To be honest, Adele is my favorite singer. So when I heard her name, I came up with this idea to go up on the stage... I pretended this was an award for me."

Adele wasn't the first celebrity Sediuk had messed up with. Last year, he got slapped in the face after attempting to kiss Will Smith while the actor walked the red carpet to premiere "Men in Black 3" in Moscow. In 2011, he gave Madonna a bouquet of Hydrangea, the flower she loathed the most.
