Drake is finally responding to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control‘ verse. According to the Canadian rapper, Kendrick is “not murdering” him at all.
In a new interview with Billboard, Drizzy brushes off the Compton MC’s verse and his boasts of being the best rapper.
“I didn’t really have anything to say about it,” the 26-year-old OVO Sound leader shares. “It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”
The “murdering” line he’s referring to comes from Lamar’s verse on Big Sean‘s ‘Control,’ where he calls out Drake and a bevy of other popular rhymers. “I’m usually homeboys with the same n—-s I’m rhymin’ with / But this is hip-hop and them n—-s should know what time it is / And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale / Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake / Big Sean, Jay Electron‘, Tyler, Mac Miller / I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n—-s,” he raps.
