'Family Guy' Fans Reacts To Recently Deceased Character

The recent death on "Family Guy" is not accepted well by fans. After 11 seasons, it's apparently hard for fans to bid farewell [SPOILER ALERT!] to the Griffins' pet dog, Brian, as they petition against the talking dog's death.

Since it was created on early Monday, November 25, the Change.org petition has collected more than 19,000 signatures. Petition organizer Aaron Thompson of Tuscaloosa wrote, "Brian Griffin was an important part of our viewing experience. He added a witty and sophisticated element to the show. Family Guy and Fox Broadcasting will lose viewers if Brian Griffin is not brought back to the show."

"The writers of family guy didn't just kill off one of their creations, they killed off the dog who has lived in our homes for the last 15 years. They killed the dog we all have come to love. They killed America's dog!" he added.

Brian was killed off in "Life of Brian" which aired last Sunday. The anthropomorphic dog got struck by a car and died of injuries he sustained in the accident. Before the episode ended, the Griffins had adopted a new pet.

Explaining their decision to kill off the character which had been on the show since its debut in 1999, executive producer Steve Callaghan told E! Online, "We thought it could be a fun way to shake things up."

He added, "Our fans are smart enough and have been loyal to our show for long enough to know that they can trust us. We always make choices that always work to the greatest benefit of the series."
