Rihanna wins a legal battle with U.K clothing retailer. The songstress sued the U.K. giant fashion chain for $5million, claiming that the store used her image on a t-shirt without her consent.
The photo in question was taken during a 2011 video shoot in Northern Ireland.
A judge rules in favor of the RnB singer. The judge notes that it's likely for buyers to think the t-shirt was genuinely endorsed by the songstress. It's also believed that the unauthorized clothing could affect the sales of her River Island fashion line.
In her lawsuit, Rihanna previously claimed that Topshop initially ordered to sell the t-shirt under the name Rihanna Tank. After being challenged by her team, the store dropped her name and changed it into Headscarf Girl Tank before later renaming it Icon Tank.
